Ivana Aleksić (maiden name Mašić) was born in 1982 in Šabac. She graduated at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Pharmacy in 2007. She received a PhD degree from the same faculty in 2013. Doctoral dissertation was entitled: “The influence of formulation factors and process parameters on the characteristics of granulates obtained by melt granulation in fluid bed apparatus”. From 2015, she has been enrolled in Specialized Academic Studies – Industrial Pharmacy.
In 2010, she was granted a scholarship for an exchange PhD – 6 months mobility period at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, in the framework of the Basileus Project (funded by the European Commission).
Since 2007 she is employed at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Pharmacy as: teaching associate (2007−2009), teaching assistant (2009-2016), and assistant professor (from 2016 – to date) at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Cosmetology. She is involved in teaching activities in the following courses (integrated academic studies): Pharmaceutical Technology 2, Pharmaceutical Technology 3, Industrial Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicines.
Ivana participated in two national projects of technological development:"Development and application of in vitro and in silico methods in biopharmaceutical characterization of BCS class 2 and 3 drugs" (2008-2010), funded by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia, and "Advanced Technologies for Controlled Release from Solid Drug Delivery Systems" (2011-2016), funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia. She also participated in Slovenia – Serbia bilateral project"Optimization of Fluid Bed Hot Melt Granulation" (2012-2013). From 2010 to 2012, she participated in the project: "Postgraduate Qualification in Pharmacy – The Way Forward" (Tempus Programme), and from 2013 to 2015 in the project "Linking Industry and Academia in Teaching Drug Development and Manufacture (LIAT-Ph) " (Lifelong LearningProgramme).
She is the author or co-author of a number of publications: one book chapter in a book of international scientific interest, 6 research papers in international scientific journals, 2 papers in national scientific journals, 14 abstracts presented in international meetings, 5 abstracts presented in national meetings, one technical solution. She is the coauthor of one textbook and one multimedia publication. She is a reviewer for international scientific journals.
Research interest: formulation and characterisation of liquisolid systems, melt granulation, preparation and characterization of granules and pellets, agglomeration mechanisms, optimization of fluidized bed processes, spray congealing process, formulation development and biopharmaceutical characterization of solid dosage forms.
