Miron Sopić, PhD
Miron Sopić was born on August 7th, 1982 in Sarajevo. He finished elementary school and high school in Belgrade. In 2001 he enrolled the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade where he graduated in 2007 with average grade 9.22. In the same year he was awarded as the best graduated student.
Since October 2007 Miron is employed at Department of Medical Biochemistry of Faculty of Pharmacy as practical classes assistant and in same year he has enrolled PhD studies in Medical Biochemistry in Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. As part of mandatory internship he was an intern in Institute for medical biochemistry of Faculty of Pharmacy and clinical lab “Belladonna” in Zemun. In October 2009. Miron has passed the licensing exam for graduated pharmacists-medical biochemists.
Starting with July 15 2009. Miron Sopić is working as a teaching assistant in the specialized field of medical biochemistry. Since the beginning of his enrollment at Department of Medical Biochemistry at Faculty of Pharmacy Miron takes part in carrying out practical classes on the following subjects: Biochemistry, Application of Information Technology in Academic Practice, Clinical Enzymology and Statistics in Medical Biochemistry in the study program Msc of Medical Biochemistry and subjects Medical Biochemistry and Statistics in Pharmacy in program MsC of pharmacy.
Since joining the Department Miron is involved in research work. Between September 2008 and December 2010, he was a researcher on project funded by Ministry of science and development called: “Testing of biochemical and genetic risk factors in pathogenesis and markers of atherosclerosis and other diseases: analytical and clinical aspects."
Since January 2011, Miron is involved in project called "Interactive role of dyslipidemia, oxidative stress and inflammation in atherosclerosis and other diseases: genetic and biochemical markers,"managed by Prof. dr Zorana Jelić – Ivanović, and funded by Ministry of education, science and technical development of Republic of Serbia.
Miron also participated in two international projects. Since 2010 he is an associate on international project as part of COST program (European research program COST, European Cooperation in Science and Technology). Scientific Domain: Biomedicine and Molecular Biosciences; Action: HDL: From Biological Understanding to Clinical Exploitation" (BM0904), and starting from 2012, he is also assistant on bilateral international project between Republic of Serbia and Republic of Slovenia called: "Diagnostic value of new biomarkers for the early detection of atherosclerosis in patients with terminal stage of renal disease."
